mac speakers quiet

I for mac garage band. I'm a song and transfer to iTunes. It is extremely quiet. Much more calm that my song was originally. I have to turn the speakers up to 3 / 4 of the way to listen to a decent level. The "catch volume is already at full height, I'm not stupid, please do not respond to" have u cheked the little wit the cursor next to speek? "It's just quiet. I also tried Preferences> Playback> soundcheck. That does not work. I need help really bad.
It may be a problem with iTunes EQ settings. 1. While your song is played, Open the equalizer in the "View" menu bar item. 2. Set the EQ flat. 3. Lift the preamp so that the volume collected is what you want it. 4. Obviously, make sure the equalizer is checked "On"
