New Speakers for Vox AC30 twin super.?
Hi, I have a 1960 Vox AC30. Today, one of the speakers died and I was advised by an expert that is irreparable. I sent another expert who has advised a range of speakers that would fit, good sound and be affordable. Please advise me on the following speakers which ones you prefer and why. The Vox AC30 Two speakers 15 watts. But I think that 2 speakers of 30 watts will be perfect as well. Celestion Alnico Blue Celestion G12H (my current preference) P12N Jensen P12Q or P12R All the Jensens and the alnico Celestion Alnico magnets fitted. I did not really spend £ 180 for alnicos premium unless there is an advantage enormous, but alnicos you really recommend? The G12H seems very nice, the reviews are good, and apparently he did Nice warm tones. What is the sound of loudspeakers Midrange like Jensen? Thank you for your time Alex
Your GPA is an original AC30 and I recommend you keep it as original as possible, do a search on eBay or a phone repair Amp and see if you can find a replacement for the same use. This also means that you only have to buy a speaker, not two. Also get a second opinion on the speaker broken, most can be re-conical, or even Rewired take a new magnet.
